Salisbury

Salisbury Cathedral is one of the most stunning sights in Britain.

The building dates from the 13th century and is a wonderful example of early English gothic architecture. The spire soars above the town, drawing you towards it. Painted by artists including John Constable, and featuring in many books, the first sight of Salisbury cathedral is truly breathtaking.

The beautiful cloisters give access to the Chapter House where you will see an example of Magna Carta, one of the most famous ancient documents in the world. Magna Carta dates from 1215 and was a first attempt to set down certain rights in law. Salisbury has one of the four surviving copies.
